Make your move to AutoCAD Civil 3D and help your team complete a wide range of civil engineering projects faster, smarter, and more accurately. By intelligently linking design and production drafting, the industry-proven dynamic model at the core of Civil 3D allows you to evaluate multiple design alternatives quickly, minimise manual edits, and output updated plans automatically.

Features:

  • Automated Plans Production
  • Style-based annotation, drafting and display Integrated project management tools
  • Powerful dynamic model
  • Based on AutoCAD software
  • Includes complete Survey Functionality
  • Includes all AutoCAD Map 3D functionality
  • Based on AutoCAD Software - AutoCAD Civil 3D software is based on industry-leading AutoCAD 2008 software. Work in a familiar graphical environment with drafting tools you already know and plot project documentation and plan sets with dependable accuracy and fidelity
  • Plans Production - Automatically layout and generate plan, plan and profile, and profile only sheets with the new Plans Production tools. Quickly and accurately generate all the plan sets required to complete your project in a timely manner by taking advantage of the powerful style-based drafting and annotation tools included with Civil 3D. The Plans Production tools ensure your construction documents are always in synch with the latest design changes
  • Complete Survey Functionality - Survey commands are cleanly integrated into the Civil 3D toolset and user interface. Users have a consistent environment for all tasks, ranging from fieldbook import, least squares adjustment, and editing of survey observations to management of point groups, creation of surfaces and layout of parcels and alignments.
  • Project Management - AutoCAD Civil 3D software adds multi-user project support for core elements in the Civil 3D model so that your project team can work more efficiently and with less risk of coordination errors as modifications occur in the project cycle. The project support in Civil 3D software leverages the core data management capabilities of Autodesk Vault functionality to provide the entire project team access to the data they need to complete their work.
  • Styles - A unique style system in AutoCAD Civil 3D software enables organisations to define CAD and design standards that can be easily used throughout the entire organisation. Standards from the colour, line type, and increment of contours, to the labelling that appears in a section or profile band can be defined in a style that will then be used throughout the design and production drafting process.
  • Data Management - The project support in Civil 3D leverages the core data management capabilities of Autodesk Vault software so that the entire project team has access to the data that they need to complete their work. It facilitates the organisation of files, distribution of files over a network, version control, check-in and check-out, and rollbacks.
  • Points - Create points using a variety of coordinate geometry (COGO) and graphical methods. AutoCAD Civil 3D software incorporates points as part of the engineering model, making them integral throughout the analysis and design process.
  • Surfaces - Build surfaces from a variety of 3D source data. Analyse contours, slope, elevation, and watershed areas, and update contours, volumes, and surface analysis instantly when making surface edits. AutoCAD Civil 3D software updates surfaces when data is added or edited, and rebuilds the surface when data is removed.
  • Parcels - Dynamic relationships mean that parcel collections are always up-to-date. AutoCAD Civil 3D software integrates parcels within a single topology, so a change to one parcel creates related changes in neighbouring parcels.
  • Alignments - The alignment object includes tangent, curve, and spiral elements and enables the addition of any labelling required in the finished draft. Editing with a tabular editor or graphical interface automatically updates the alignments labelling. Share alignment and profile data across drawings for use by multiple project team members.
  • Profiles - Extract profiles of multiple surfaces based on alignment geometry. Automatically create the profile appearance and annotation based on the styles that you select. Update profile labelling and drafting dynamically
  • Corridor Modelling - Generate a dynamic model of any road, rail, or corridor project based on design elements, including alignments, profiles, superelevation, and criteria included in design subassemblies. Any change to any elements that were used to create the model result in updated corridor volumes, surfaces, sections, and other analysis and output.
  • Sections - Extract and draft surface and corridor sections. Select sections at specific stations, at intervals along alignments, or at specific points, and create section plots for a single station or full section sheets.
  • Grading - Combine multiple grading elements into one group to find solutions for complex grading problems. Grade into surface, elevation, distance, and adjacent grading objects. Balance cut/fill volumes dynamically for an entire site or a single grading object. Build a static or dynamic surface from grading groups.
  • Pipe Layout - Lay out sanitary and storm drainage systems as dynamic, interactive networks. Make changes to pipes and structures using graphical as well as numerical input. Plot and complete final drafting of the pipe network in plan, profile, and section views, and share pipe network information, such as material and size, with external analysis applications.
  • Pipe Drafting - Plot and complete final drafting of the pipe network in plan, profile, or section views. Data from the pipe network is used in labels. Subsequent changes to the pipe network automatically update the drafting.
  • Visualisation - Take advantage of integrated rendering and visualisation tools to create powerful and visually pleasing presentations of your designs. Whether its a quick 3D view of a proposed design change, or a complete rendering of the final design, use AutoCAD Civil 3D software to quickly and accurate generate design visualisation.
  • Coordinate Geometry (COGO) - Point creation and management tools, automated linework and curve routines, and transparent commands allow you to quickly and accurately create and manage the coordinate geometry needed to complete and design projects.
  • AutoCAD Map 3D 2008 Foundation - Since AutoCAD Civil 3D software includes all the powerful geospatial functionality found in AutoCAD Map 3D software, you can create, edit, manage and share geospatial data in a seamlessly integrated platform.
